PET is a specific Polyester. You probably know PET from one of the best-known packaging out there: plastic soft drink bottles. This plastic is so durable and flexible that they can easily be used several times and that is what happens. This plastic is crystal clear and of very high quality, which makes it possible to make truly stunning packaging. Due to the flexibility, these packaging cannot be broken quickly. Finally, PET is 100% recyclable! All great possibilities, but as with all good things this comes at a price, this is a relatively more expensive type of plastic.
After PE & PP, PET is the most commonly used type of plastic. PET is often further processed in the packaging world to achieve specific properties (see APET / CPET & PETG).
